Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How long will I have to wait to pick up my completed pots? How will I be contacted?

A. This will vary depending on the length of your course, how long the clay takes to dry and our firing schedule. Please allow 2-4 weeks after your last class/visit for your pots to have their final firing. They must be slowly dried, bisque fired, glazed and fired again. You will be contact via the email address you provided when you booked.

Q. You don’t have regular open hours. How to I arrange to pick up my kid’s Mud Bud/Clay Camp Projects? Do you email each week?

A. We do not send pickup emails for Mud Buds. Please email us at thepotteryoc@gmail.com or message us via the ‘contact’ page on the website to arrange pickup. Alternatively please drop by during Mud Buds programming to collect.

Q. I want to join your membership program but I have no ceramic experience, can I still come?

A. Absoloutely! We are happy to facilitate your learning. We required brand new learners to either do a multi-week course or do 3-5 private lessons. Please contact us to book.

Q. I want to learn how to make pottery but I struggle with pain/mobility. Can I still learn?

A. Where there is a will, there is a way! We will do our very best to get you creating in the most comfortable and accessible way possible.

A. Do you take private bookings? I would like to get some friends together for my birthday, none of us have any experience though.

Q. We are super happy to accomodate you. Choose from a wheel lesson or hand building workshop, or even book yourself and your family/friends in for a multiweek course.

Q. How old do you have to be to learn to create with clay?

A. We recommened children 2 years +, or whenever they’re over putting everything in their mouths.

Cancellation Policy

Please note before booking a multi-weekcourse that cancellations made within 10 days of the course start date are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.

Workshops or kids programs cancelled within 5 days of the event are subject to a 50% cancellation fee.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the start of any course or workshop are non-refundable.Seats are non transferable once a course/multi-day workshop has started.

Please treat your classes/workshop like concert tickets, not appointments - Missed classes/workshops will not be offered at an alternative time. In the instance of emergency/illness, non-instructional time in the studio may be offered at the instructor’s discretion (Multi-week classes only). Please note - Class/Workshop cancellations may occur at short notice due to staff illness or low enrollment, in which case a full refund will be issued.
